What is Water Proofing?

​ Waterproofing is the process of treating the surface or structure and making it waterproof or water-resistant so that it is protected from damages that water could bring and remains relatively unaffected by water or resists the ingress of water under specified conditions. Water-resistant and waterproof often refer to resistance to penetration of water in its liquid state and possibly under pressure, whereas damp proof refers to resistance to humidity or dampness.

A) Protective Grade Waterproofing - When the surface is waterproofed, it has to be protected by screed/tiling, etc. This normally is done on the mother slab on new construction.

FAP Waterproofing ( Fabric Applied Protective Waterproofing)

  • Surface preparation

  • Fabric or Fibre mess laying with priming

In FAP waterproofing, the fabric is reinforced along with the use of waterproofing 2 K chemicals Hi Seal slurry liquid & hi Seal slurry powder or cement. The on-site emulsion is made by these 2 K waterproofing chemicals and fabric reinforced for strong binding and bearing the expansion-contraction of the substrate and bridging the cracks.

C) Exposed Grade Waterproofing

Exposed waterproofing is done on the existing roofs or roofs exposed directly to Sun radiations. This type of waterproofing is with the added benefit of cooling.
